Why couldn't they time the movies to launch during the June holidays. After the Pirates of the Caribbean, X Men just barely made it, then followed after the hols by the Green Lantern, then the Transformers and now Harry Porter.... that's literally $50+ bugs per movie in a series of weeks.. do the math..... Well the kids are in movie heaven at the moment. What happens when the frenzy(cinema) dies down.... .withdrawal ??.. (enough already... .. back to the books with you) I thought X Men Classic was excellent in portrayal. Then after I was asking the question, why do they create movies in a backward sequence these days.. jump into the middle like for Star Wars, Star Trek, Batman. I'm glad Lord of the Rings was shown in the right sequence. Is it perhaps true that we would not be as interested to see the origins until we have seen the middle of the story? Did I catch them in 3D , nah.. I think it's overrated if there aren't really that many special effects. Wh...
On Saturday, I decided to take advantage of the bookshops special discount offer of 25%. I wanted to buy more academic practice books for the hols.. yeah yeah kiasu. But the sale was only at the Ion where the Popular outlet is called Prologue. I suppose the name 'Popular' just won't do in a upscale mall like the Ion. Just as 'Harris" is at Suntec. Anyway this was my first actual visit to the Ion. I usually avoid Orchard Road cos I don't like crowds. Well despite getting lost, walking every which way but the right way, we finally got to the store on the 4th level. (I must add they do have very polite information service persons posted here and there for help but it didn't help cos the lifts were full). The Ion was crowded, it was a Saturday night I suppose. We found the lift lobby but just couldn't get in and decided let's find the escalators and find a way with more walking. We found the store. It didn't look like the Popular we are used...
It's irritating to get pushed and nagged into signing for packages. You just want to relax after your hair styling or after a manicure or a massage instead you get stressed at the end of it. I'm not sure if it's done in the US and other places but here in Singapore this happens very often almost everywhere. Thank goodness they haven't started doing it at McDonalds. Unfortunately we're women.. we need more accessories, we need more beauty and skincare services and such to keep us going..... and take away the blues or we could live like drabs! I understand it's business, there's savings for you... but there is a limit. If I have already committed something to the establishment, then leave me in peace to complete it at least and then start the sales push. Sometimes you just want to indulge ONCE...but you get weary knowing what's waiting at the end of the session. But now, before I can even get to the last round, you've got 3-4 more vis...
